‼️ THEY DON’T WORK ‼️
👉🏾 High abandonment rates: Most people abandon their New Year’s resolutions within the first few months of the year.
👉🏾 Lack of specificity: Setting specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) goals increases the likelihood of success.
👉🏾 Unrealistic expectations: This only leads to frustration and disappointment. People give up on their resolutions if they are not getting fast results.
👉🏾 Limited support and accountability: Without support, people may find it challenging to stay motivated and overcome obstacles.
⁉️ WHAT DOES IT ALL MEAN ⁉️
Here at Hot Yoga Philadelphia, we see a large influx of Resolution Yogis every January…and then they fizzle out come February. Don’t disappear and become a statistic! Here’s simple tips for making Hot Yoga a habit you can stick with:
1️⃣ Be realistically consistent and aim for 1-3 classes per week.
2️⃣ Hydrate and prepare – this way you adapt to the heat and have a better chance of sticking to your routine.
3️⃣ Remember, yoga is wellness, not fitness…do what you can, when you can.
4️⃣ Come with a friend…when you can. However, don’t depend on other people to attend classes. Ultimately, it’s your life, your goals, and your wellbeing at stake.
5️⃣ JOIN A COMMUNITY…maybe you can’t convince your best buds to come to hot yoga with you, but you CAN make #yogafriends! Yoga and fitness studios can be great places connect with like minded people that can help you stay inspired to keep those resolutions.
