What is Marma Therapy?

Marma therapy is an ancient Indian healing practice rooted in Ayurveda, involving the manipulation of specific energy points called “marma points” located at the intersections of various bodily structures. These points are believed to be vital for the flow of life force or prana. Katelynn will use gentle  stimulation and pressure to balance these points bringing

What is Reiki Healing?

Rooted in the belief that life force energy flows within and around the body, Reiki channels this universal energy to promote relaxation, balance, and well-being. Kaitlin will use her hands to gently facilitate the flow of healing energy. Reiki removes energy blockages, stimulates the body’s natural healing abilities, and creates a sense of harmony on physical, emotional, and spiritual levels.

What is Yin Yoga?

Yin yoga is a slow-paced style where floor based postures are held for several minutes, targeting connective tissues and promoting relaxation. It enhances flexibility, encourages mindfulness, and is suitable for all levels. While relaxing in these deep stretches, students will have the opportunity to receive Marma and Reiki healing.

About Kaitlin and Katelynn

Hot Yoga Philadelphia Instructors Katelynn Ingersoll and Kaitlin McCoale will co-lead this class.

Katelynn is currently Full Time Mom, and forever a yogi.  Katelynn has been teaching at Hot Yoga Philadelphia for over a decade and is the former Studio Director/Owner, a Certified Ayurvedic Practitioner, and a Registered Nurse. Katelynn has trained and taught yoga teachers and students of Ayurveda and is thrilled to be a part of this offering. She truly believes our society lacks the quiet and peaceful Yin Elements and that we can all benefit from a deep understanding of Yin Yoga and Alternative Healing Modalities.

Kaitlin has been a student at HYP in 2010 and a certified instructor since 2014. After breaking her lumbar spine and then spraining her back 2 years later, she thought chronic back pain would be a permanent fixture. After 2 months of regular practice, she awoke one morning pain-free. Her goal is to encourage other students to find healing through disciplining the body.
